Game Thread 5/23: Braves vs. Brewers

New, 173 comments

The first two games of this series have been utterly shambolic. Are we going to get a good game today?

Last night was the embodiment of a hot mess: The Braves only got three hits, didn't score, and lost by eleven. That's the last that we'll speak of that debacle. Now, it's time to focus on today's contest, which includes a start from this blog's favorite topic of discussion: Shelby Miller. At the very least, the pitching for Atlanta should be better than it was last night.

Here are the lineups. The Brewers still have the pitcher hitting eighth, so there's that.

Today's Lineups

MILWAUKEE BREWERS ATLANTA BRAVES
Carlos Gomez - CF Jace Peterson - 2B
Gerardo Parra - LF Cameron Maybin - CF
Ryan Braun - RF Freddie Freeman - 1B
Adam Lind - 1B Nick Markakis - RF
Aramis Ramirez - 3B Jonny Gomes - LF
Elian Herrera - 2B A.J. Pierzynski - C
Martin Maldonado - C Alberto Callaspo - 3B
Mike Fiers - RHP Andrelton Simmons - SS
Luis Sardinas - SS Shelby Miller - RHP

And here's the table on Mike Fiers:
