The Braves' bullpen got banged around with John Cornely and Mitchell Boggs combining to allow six hits and seven earned runs in just 1 2/3 innings. Adonis Garcia stayed hot at the plate with three more hits to raise his average to .351.

Mississippi extended its winning streak to three straight with a 3-2 win over Pensacola. Tyrell Jenkins struggled with his control but was effective throwing seven scoreless innings while allowing three hits and five walks. He struck out three batters and lowered his ERA to 3.00 on the season. Rio Ruiz broke out of a long slump with an RBI double in the fifth inning.

Carolina lost their third straight game on Sunday falling to the Pelicans 6-5. Trailing 6-3 in the eighth, the Mudcats tried to rally their way back. Jose Briceno and Sal Giardina reached with back-to-back singles and scored on Connor Oliver's second triple of the day to cut the deficit to 6-5. However, Reed Harper and Johan Camargo struck out to end the threat.

Rome saw an 8-5 lead slip away in the ninth inning of a 9-8 loss to Asheville. The Braves' pitchers struggled to find the plate all afternoon walking 11 batters in the game. Bryan De La Rosa had a good day at the plate going 3-for-4 with a couple of RBIs to raise his average to .278. Ozhaino Albies had two hits and his 15th stolen base of the season.
