The Atlanta Braves have dropped two games in a row, and that is never fun for the fans. However, we have a fantastic way to pass the time on Thursday evening, as the Braves are in the midst of a travel day between Cincinnati and Miami.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. Thursday's slate is a bit jumbled, with a bunch of games taking place during the day, but there is still plenty of action to examine in the evening, and hopefully, the lineup below will help you out a bit.
As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so feel free to do that.
Note: This lineup would be used in a 7:10 pm ET contest.
P - Johnny Cueto ($10,500)
C - Brian McCann ($3,100)
1B - Joey Votto ($3,700)
2B - Ryan Goins ($2,300)
3B - Nolan Arenado ($3,600)
SS - Troy Tulowitzki ($4,300)
OF - Ezequiel Carrera ($2,200)
OF - Andre Ethier ($3,100)
OF - Shane Victorino ($2,200)
Johnny Cueto is easily the most expensive pitcher of the day, but with a few prime match-ups out the window as a result of early start times, I feel most comfortable deploying the Reds ace. Behind him, I'm a big fan of left-handed Blue Jays (i.e. Carrera and Goins) in Houston against Roberto Hernandez, and right-handed Rockies studs (Arenado and Tulo) against Brett Anderson.
Perhaps my favorite buy of the night is Andre Ethier, who always torches right-handed pitching, in a favorable spot against little-known Chad Bettis. Round things out with Joey Votto against Tim Lincecum (yum) and old pal Brian McCann against a right-hander, and we'll call it an evening.
The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
