Sugar Ray Marimon struggled allowing five runs (4 earned) over four innings in a 5-4 loss by Gwinnett to Syracuse. The Braves pushed a pair of runs across in the ninth inning before Daniel Castro popped out to end the game with runners at the corners. Mycal Jones had a double and a home run to raise his average to .313 for the season. Jose Peraza went 1-4 and also collected his 14th stolen base of the season.

Mallex Smith accounted for both Mississippi runs with a two-run home run to right-center in the third inning. Tyrell Jenkins took care of things from there pitching seven innings while allowing seven hits and one run to even his record at 2-2 for the season.

Mississippi got another strong pitching performance in Game 2 sweeping the doubleheader with another 2-1 win. The Braves plated a pair of runs in the third inning the first coming on an RBI groundout by KD Kang. One batter later, third baseman Brandon Drury couldn't handle a grounder off the bat of Rio Ruiz allowing Emerson Landoni to score. Ryan Weber got the start and allowed one run over three innings. Jorge Reyes picked up his fourth win of the season with a pair of scoreless innings in relief.

Ryan Aper's RBI double in the ninth inning proved to be the difference in a 2-1 win by Greenville over Rome Tuesday afternoon. Rome's lone run came in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI double by Braxton Davidson. Keith Curcio lined out to shortstop Rony Cabrera to end the game with the tying run at second base. Jordan Edgerton remained hot with three more hits including a double. Sean Furney pitched seven strong innings allowing just four hits. Dustin Emmons allowed runs in the eighth and the ninth and took his first loss of the season.
