It had been expected that Atlanta would call up Foltynewicz to make Friday's start when Trevor Cahill made an appearance in relief on Wednesday. After an up and down spring training, Foltynewicz was off to a strong start at Gwinnett allowing just five earned runs in 21 2/3 innings to go along with 30 strikeouts.
