Peoria Javelinas 6 vs. Glendale Desert Dogs 3
- Johan Camargo, 3B: 0-4
- Connor Lien, CF: 1-4, 1 run, 1 RBI, 1 K
The Javelinas climbed out of the cellar in the AFL as they defeated Glendale 6-3. There are now 5 games left on the AFL schedule and the Javelinas are 3 games back. They will essentially need to win out and hope the Saguaros falter to get in to the championship game. There were no Atlanta pitching prospects in this game, but Connor Lien and Johan Camargo were in action. Connor Lien now has hits in 3 of his last 4 games in the AFL, although he has struck out 28 times in 63 at-bats in the AFL this year including at least once in each of the last 10 games. Lien also drove in and scored a run in the game.
Johan Camargo, notably seeing time at third base, continued his recent struggles in the AFL with an 0-4 day. He is hitless in his last 3 games and his average in the AFL now sits at .176. Johan, and Lien as well, only have a few more games left to salvage their AFL seasons and get some momentum going in to next season.
