Peoria Javelinas 6 vs. Salt River Rafters 5
- Joseph Odom, C: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 run
- Andrew Thurman, RP: 2.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
- Mauricio Cabrera, RP: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
The Javelinas were victorious over the Rafters 6-5 as they try to get back to respectability in the AFL West division. In terms of position players, only Joseph Odom was in action on Tuesday night. He did, however, have a reasonably productive day as he hit a double and scored a run. Odom is now hitting .111 in the AFL and looks to finish the AFL season strong after a poor showing thus far.
As for pitching, there were two Braves prospects in action. Andrew Thurman, who has been inconsistent during his time in the AFL, did not have the greatest of outings after giving up two earned runs in two innings of work. His first inning of work was clean, but the second inning he gave up two doubles and a triple. As for Mauricio Cabrera, a prospect who continues to intrigue and aggravate many followers of the Braves farm system, well...

Thats a serious amount of firepower. He did get hit a little bit with a run scoring on a ground out, but hitting 102-103 MPH fairly consistently is definitely going to get some attention. The most heartening thing about Mauricio's time in the AFL is this: in 7 appearances and 9.1 innings pitched, he has walked just 4 batters. He has also given up 14 hits which is less good, but its nice to see that he appears to at least be finding the strike zone more regularly.
