Yesterday, we opined that although Andrelton Simmons would probably take home other awards and accolades for defensive excellence despite not winning the Gold Glove.
As it turns out, he wouldn't have to wait long at all.

Maybe this is just a manufactured competition between two rival glove companies, but we are pretty sure that Wilson got this one right given Andrelton's rankings among most defensive metrics. Between this award and the Fielding Bible Award that he has already collected for this past season, its probably safe to say that Andrelton is feeling pretty good about his play at shortstop considering he was just named the top overall defensive player in the league.
Wait...whats that? You want more videos of Andrelton doing Andrelton things. No problem
Rather than get upset over Andrelton missing out on the Gold Glove this year, lets celebrate the fact that we have a player on the Braves who is so well regarded and can do things like in the videos above and will continue to be a Brave (hopefully) for years to come.
