Arizona Fall League Recap: Lien does well, Camargo not so much

While there were no Braves pitchers in action on Monday, Connor Lien and Johan Camargo did see the field of play

Surprise Saguaros 4 vs. Peoria Javelinas 4 F/11

Box Score

  • Johan Camargo, SS: 0-5, 2 errors
  • Connor Lien, CF: 2-4, 1 run, 1 SB, 1 CS

Not much was resolved in this game after 11 innings and the game with Surprise ended in a 4-4 tie. No Braves pitchers were used, but we did get to see a couple other Braves position player prospects see play. Lets start with the good news: Connor Lien had a pretty good day. Lien hit a couple of singles, scored a run, and stole a base which is a very Connor Lien-esque line, especially when you include the one strikeout as well. He was also caught stealing for the first time this AFL season, but thats not a big deal. It was nice to see Connor doing work on the base paths given his struggles thus far in the AFL season.

As for Johan Camargo, well...this was a forgettable day. While an occasional 0-5 day is bound to happen, it is made much worse when you also make 2 errors in the field. His rough day at the plate brought Johan's average in the AFL down to .209 and we will just try to forget this game ever happened for him. It also stings a little bit that both Braves' players batted at the very bottom of the lineup, but hopefully they will play their way up before the end of the AFL season.
