Wasting no time after they were eliminated yesterday, the Atlanta Braves announced today that general manager Frank Wren has been relieved of his duties. John Hart has been named the interim general manager.

The ideal candidate to replace Wren would be John Coppolella, a current assistant to Wren who has made no qualms about his support for sabermetrics. Should the Braves look elsewhere, such as Royals GM Dayton Moore, this move becomes a real head-scratcher.
Inexplicably, Fredi Gonzalez still has a job.
We'll bring you more news as it comes in.
