Gwinnett got schmacked on the road Tuesday in Charlotte, taking a 10-1 loss. It was a night to forget for Gus Scholsser, who gave up seven runs in 3.1 innings. His night was disrupted by five walks and two homers, leaving too big of a hole for the offense to dig out of. Luis Avilan and Chasen Shreve got their left arms working with Avilan allowing four base runners in his inning of work. Elmer Reyes collected two doubles, raising his average to .282.

Lynchburg put a beat down on Salem Tuesday, scoring 10 runs over a three inning span to cap off a 13-5 win. The offense was in full force ripping 15 hits and drawing five walks. Five players had multi-hit games, including Jose Martinez who tripled, doubled and drove in a team high four runs. Jarrett Miller didnt have his best stuff, but didn't need it as four runs over five innings did the trick. The 'pen only allow four hits over the final four frames, striking out five.

Rome squeaked out a win behind home runs from Sean Godfrey and Carlos Franco. Despite going 1-for-8 w/ RISP, the Braves were able to use the rare long ball in the 4th inning to take a one-run win. Connor Lien added two hits of his own, upping his average to .280. Chris Diaz was more than impressive in his four innings of work, despite allowing two runs. Instead, his eight strikeouts and zero walks were a great sign after seeing Diaz struggle with control as he has in his past starts. Matt Sims threw a perfect inning and two-thirds in relief, striking out two.

Danville gave up five runs in the 8th innings, however, only one was earned, costing the club a W. Dustin Emmons caught the raw end of the deal, giving up four of the runs (all unearned) while recording both outs via strikeout. Daniel Cordero got he start and threw six shutout innings, only allowing three hits on the night. Joseph Daris collected three hits in the leadoff spot, raising his average to .275. Right fielder Justin Black went deep in the nine spot, his first in Danville.

The GCL squad was able to rip out 10 hits, but only could push across four runs, taking a 7-4 loss. Five errors between both squads made for a sloppy game, as only seven of the runs were unearned. Luis Monasterio, the 19-year-old from Venezuela, reached base three times but failed to plate a run. Ray Patrick-Dider also reached twice from the bottom of the order, adding his third stolen base of the season.
