- Pedro Beato: 1.2 IP, H, 4 K, 1:0 GO:FO, 4.11 ERA
Gwinnett dropped a 5-3 contest to the Bulls yesterday. I'm not going to talk much about Kanekoa Texeira's mediocre start, because meh, but I found out today that he's Shane Victorino's (also known as #SHANF) cousin, so that's a bit disturbing. Pedro Beato had a dominant outing in relief, striking out four in 1.2 innings. José Constanza had two hits and stole his 30th base of the season, and Sean Kazmar and Brandon Boggs also had two-hit afternoons. Todd Cunningham smacked his eighth dinger of the season, his only hit in four tries. Joey Terdoslavich went hitless. The Braves and Bulls will go at it again tonight.

- Ryne Harper: IP, BB, 3:0 GO:FO, 2.69 ERA
Williams Pérez's strong start was backed by plenty of offense in a win over the Barons. Pérez was dominant, allowing only four hits and no walks over eight innings of one-run ball. He struck out six hitters. Ryne Harper pitched a scoreless ninth to close it out. Kyle Wren had a nice game as the lead-off hitter, reaching three times on two singles and a walk. Braeden Schlehuber also reached thrice, with a double and a pair of singles, and also three RBIs. Kyle Kubitza managed only one single and struck out three times, and was also caught stealing. Joe Gardner will take the ball against the Barons tonight.

The Hillcats came out on top of an eleven-inning contest yesterday against Myrtle Beach. Daniel Watts started on the rubber and did alright, allowing a pair of runs on six hits and three walks, striking out five. Cody Fassold and Brady Feigl each pitched well in relief, with both pitchers striking out a pair of batters in an inning of work. Blake Brown did well in the leadoff spot, singling, doubing, and swiping a bag.
Rome Braves: 5 vs. Charleston RiverDogs: 4 (11 innings)
- Connor Oliver, CF: 3-5, K, 2 PO, .253
- Connor Lien, RF: 2-6, 2 K, .276
- Jacob Schrader, 1B: 2-6, R, 2 2B (17), K, .290

Rome prevailed in extras by a 5-4 count yesterday. Steve Janas made a strong start against the RiverDogs, allowing only one run in seven innings. He didn't miss many bats, striking out two, but walked only one batter and allowed four hits. Carlos Pérez was assigned to Rome after finishing his rehab assignment and pitched a scoreless inning. Connor Oliver had three hits out of the leadoff spot, but sort of negated that by being picked off twice. Jacob Schrader had two doubles, and Connor Lien, Codey McElroy, and Reed Harper all picked up two hits as well. Rome has the day off before heading to Kannapolis.
