Could missing the playoffs spell the end for Gonzalez and Wren?

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Braves had endured an up-and-down season, and are currently trailing the Washington Nationals in the NL East. While winning the division could be out of the picture, a Wild Card berth could still be possible.

But, in the off chance that the Braves do find themselves sitting on their couches come the postseason, manager Fredi Gonzalez and general manager Frank Wren could be out of a job, reports Bob Nightengale:

"Whispers are getting louder in baseball circles that if the Atlanta Braves miss the playoffs, it could result in a front-office shakeup involving GM Frank Wren and perhaps even manager Fredi Gonzalez."

Gonzalez has been managing the Braves since 2011, and Wren has been running the front office since 2007. Despite their relatively successful histories in Atlanta, both could be gone if the Braves can't find their way into the playoffs (considering the reports are true).
