Whatever you do, promise me not to look at the Gwinnett box score.

  • Gus Schlosser: IP, 5 R (4 ER), 4.33 ERA
Gwinnett was mauled by the Knights by a 17-4 score yesterday. Shae Simmons made a rehab appearance and failed to record an out, giving up four runs on a pair of hits and walks. Aaron Northcraft had a bad outing too, allowing five runs in 5.1 innings and walking three while striking out three. Gus Schlosser also did poorly, allowing five runs (four earned) in only an inning of work. Daniel Rodriguez and Pedro Beato also allowed runs in brief relief appearances. Donnie Murphy and Joey Terdoslavich both hit home runs to lead the G-Braves' offensive attack. José Constanza also had a three-hit day at the top of the order, and stole a base, but was also caught stealing. The G-Braves and Knights will play again tonight.

Mississippi Braves: 2 at Mobile BayBears: 4

  • Barrett Kleinknecht, 2B: 2-4, R, K, .277
  • Kyle Kubitza, 3B: 1-4, 2B (29), 2 K, .296

  • Daniel Castro, SS: 1-4, .273
  • Greg Ross (L): 6 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, BB, 4 K, 7:3 GO:FO, 2.20 ERA
  • Brandon Cunniff: 2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, K, 4:1 GO:FO, 1.86 ERA
The M-Braves couldn't muster enough offense to beat the BayBears last night. Greg Ross got the start and did well, allowing a pair of runs in six innings, although he did give up eight hits. Brandon Cunniff had a poor relief outing, putting the game out of reach by surrendering a pair of runs in two innings of work. Kyle Kubitza smacked his 29th double of the year, and Cedric Hunter hit his 28th. Barrett Kleinknecht also had a two-hit game, but other than that, Mississippi's offense didn't do too much. Williams Pérez will toe the rubber against Mobile tonight.

Lynchburg Hillcats: Off-day

The 'Cats were off yesterday before beginning a home series with the Potomac Nationals this evening with Wes Parsons on the mound.

Rome Braves: Off-day

Rome also had yesterday off. They'll begin a series with the Savannah Sand Gnats tonight with Steve Janas on the bump.

Danville Braves vs. Pulaski Mariners: Postponed

The D-Braves' game against Pulaski was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.

GCL Braves: 12 at GCL Yankees1: 0

  • Cole Brocker: 2 IP, H, BB, 4 K, 2:0 GO:FO, 4.11 ERA
  • Luis Gamez: IP, H, K, 2:0 GO:FO, 4.02 ERA
The GCL Braves demolished the Yankees' first squad by a 12-0 count on Monday afternoon. Carlos Pérez made a rehab appearances and allowed a single and a walk, but not a run. Jacob Webb, Cole Brocker, Aldo Silva, and Luis Gamez combined with Pérez to toss a combined shutout. Yenier Bello, the Braves' Cuban catcher signee from the off-season, dominated with a double and a home run. Ray-Patrick Didder, Erison Mendez, Kelvin Estevez, Alejandro Flores, and Luis Monasterio all doubled as well, and Flores also tripled. Dylan Manwaring also had a two-hit game. This was an absolute thumping. The Braves and Yankees will play again at noon today.
