You may remember Jason Lane from his days with the Astros as an outfielder. When the Braves played them in the playoffs in 2005, Lane was coming off of a .267/.316/.499 season with 26 home runs. Today, he opposes them on the mound as a 37-year-old left-handed starter.
It is always cool to see stories like this evolve, but the Braves seriously need to pummel Lane today. He has a 4.67 ERA at triple-A this season with a 4.9 K/9. The Braves are going with a more Sunday-like lineup today with B.J. Upton and Tommy La Stella on the bench in favor of Jordan Schafer and Phil Gosselin.
