Mike Minor will make his second start of the season and will oppose our old friend Adam Wainwright. As many of you recall, Wainwright was once a highly touted Braves prospect who was traded for J.D. Drew way back when. The struggling Braves offense will have no easy task against Wainwright, who is one of the National League's premier starting pitchers.
Dan Uggla is on the bench today, and it certainly is beginning to look like the Braves are platooning Uggla and Ramiro Pena at second base. With that said, the only way Tommy La Stella would get a call up in this scenario is if Pena were to struggle or an injury were to occur to one of the other infielders -- Pena would slide over and La Stella would slip into second base.
This looks like what we should expect the Braves regular lineup to look like for the time being, with the pitcher batting eighth and Jason Heyward, Justin Upton, and Freddie Freeman at the top of the order. With this alignment, it will be crucial for Upton to beat left-handed relievers late in games.
