New, 252 comments

Alex Wood looks to continue his Grapefruit League dominance from the hill against Boston today with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET at Champion Stadium. John Lackey will start for the Red Sox.

So far the young heralded southpaw Alex Wood has yet to allow an earned run in spring training and he will look to keep his perfect ERA intact against the defending World Series champs on Saturday afternoon. In four Grapefruit League starts Wood is 1-0 and has struck out 12 batters in 14 innings from the hill. In 189.1 innings pitched in his career, including two seasons in the minors, he has only allowed five home runs. He could be number two in the rotation in the opening series against the Brewers to start the season.

Here's a look at the Braves lineup today:

1. Jordan Schafer- CF

2. Andrelton Simmons- SS

3. Freddie Freeman- 1B

4. Chris Johnson- 3B

5. Dan Uggla- 2B

6. Ryan Doumit- C

7. Joey Terdoslavich- RF

8. Jose Constanza- LF

9. Alex Wood- P

The big news today from Disney Wide World of Sports complex was Julio Teheran being named the Braves opening day starter. He and Wood have been two of the most impressive pitchers in ST for the team along with Gus Schlosser. According to DOB Mike Minor is supposed to be back full-go in late April.

The game today will be televised by SportsSouth and can be heard on 680/93.7 FM.
