Many have been waiting for the Evan Gattis of April and May to come back. Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, it finally happened, as Gattis cranked two home runs.

Unfortunately for the Braves, the two homers of Gattis' bat were the only offense Atlanta could muster in a 3-2 loss that gave the Phillies a series sweep.

Philadelphia jumped on Atlanta starter Paul Maholm in the first inning, as Chase Utley lined a RBI double that scored Jimmy Rollins, and Darin Ruf added a RBI single that made it 2-0 very quickly. Gattis cut that deficit in half in the top of second, as Gattis launched his first homer of the day off of Cole Hamels. It went very far.

Things stayed that way until the top of the seventh, when Gattis connected with his second bomb of the day. David Carpenter entered to pitch the eighth inning, and was rudely greeted by Ruf, who erased the tie with his 13th homer of the season to make it 3-2 in favor of the Phillies.
