Tommy La Stella wasn't in the lineup for Scottsdale last night, so OF COURSE the Scorpions fell to the Saguaros with a final score of 3-1. Elmer Reyes collected the only hit of the night for Braves prospects, singling on a soft fly ball to right field. According to David O'Brien, going to right field was something that Reyes worked on all season. His work was evident last night, as three of the four balls he put in play went to the opposite field. His two errors were his first defensive miscues of the AFL season. Robby Hefflinger had a night to forget, going 0-for-4 with a couple of strikeouts, one swinging and one called. He flied out to right field in both of his other two at-bats. With his two strikeouts in last night's game, Hefflinger brings his AFL season total to 16 in only 10 games. He's doing nothing to quell doubts that he will swing and miss too frequently for his plus raw power to play at the upper levels of the minors.
Scottsdale will take on the Glendale Desert Dogs this afternoon.
