Elmer Reyes started at second base last night to give Tommy La Stella a breather and filled his shoes quite admirably. Reyes smacked 4 hits including a pair of doubles as part of a two RBI night. He also scored three of Scottsdale's runs. Robby Hefflinger went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly and a two RBI double, while Kyle Kubitza went 1-4 with a walk.

On the mound, Juan Jaime hurled a blistering 5th inning, touching as high as 103 MPH on the Scottsdale guns en route to striking out the side. Almost more impressively, Jaime didn't walk a batter for the second outing in a row. John Cornely finally got going as well, as he threw 1.1 perfect innings with three punch outs.

Scottsdale is off tomorrow before taking on Glendale on Monday. Aaron Northcraft will draw the start.
