Open Thread 8/29: Braves vs. Marlins

New, 1096 comments

The Braves try to avoid only their second home series loss of the year this afternoon. They've got a tough task ahead of them, though, as they're facing the Marlins' Cy Young contender, Josh Johnson. Johnson has fantastic numbers for the season but he has struggled a bit lately, putting up an ERA over 5 in his past 6 starts. Hopefully the Braves' bats still have some firepower left after last night.

Derek Lowe takes the hill for the Braves. He's actually been pretty good lately, posting a 3.23 ERA in his past 5 starts. If he can put up a decent effort and keep us close, we might just be able to pull this one out. Speaking of Der(r)eks, Derrek Lee is being rested today because of his sore side. Here's the lineup:

1) Infante, 2B
2) Heyward, RF
3) Prado, 3B
4) McCann, C
5) Hinkse, 1B
6) Gonzalez, SS
7) Cabrera, LF
8) Ankiel, CF
9) Lowe, SP

Enjoy the game, everyone, and go Braves!
