There's a lot of rain in the area, and it curiously seems not to be moving so much as fading out and re-forming. So I'm not sure if we'll be able to get this one in tonight. I sure hope that we can though, because it's a good pitching matchup: Tim Hudson vs. Hiroki Kuroda. I really like Hudson's chances against this punchless Dodgers lineup, which features 5 guys with an ISO of 0.051 or less (Kuroda, Ryan Theriot, Brad Ausmus, Jamey Carroll, and Scott Podsednik*).
* In fairness, Podsednik's ISO including his time with the Royals is a marginally better 0.085.
Tim Hudson's ISO, by the way, is 0.073. So Hudson arguably has more power than half the Dodgers' lineup. Cool.
The Braves' lineup, meanwhile, features 6 guys with ISOs above 0.160 (Brooks Conrad, Brian McCann, Eric Hinske, Jason Heyward, Alex Gonzalez, and Troy Glaus). Rick Ankiel would make that 7 if you include his numbers from Kansas City. And all that's without Chipper Jones or Martin Prado--two more guys with ISOs above 0.160--in the lineup.
This lineup certainly has its flaws right now, but a lack of power is not one of them. Speaking of the lineup, here it is:
1) Infante, 2B
2) Heyward, RF
3) Gonzalez, SS
4) McCann, C
5) Glaus, 1B
6) Hinske, LF
7) Conrad, 3B
8) Ankiel, CF
9) Hudson, SP
Enjoy the game and go Braves!
