Charlotte 10, Gwinnett 1
- J. Heyward 0-3 BB, K
- A. Colina 2-2 2B, RBI
- R. Reynoso 5IP 7H 6R 2BB 0K
The International League (specifically the Charlotte Knights) was unkind to Ryne Reynoso on his first attempt at tackling AAA. The crazy thing is he was excellent in 4 of his 5 innings. The 2nd inning really did him in however as he gave up all 6 runs in the frame. Jason Heyward wasn't much better, but he didn manage to reach base in his AAA debut.Mississippi 2, Carolina 3
- C. Rodriguez 1-5 2B, RBI, 2K
- C. Johnson 1-4 2K
- J. Ortegano 7.1IP 7H 2R 2BB 5K
Jose Ortgegano has been pretty damn impressive since he was called up to Mississippi. He has posted a 2.83 ERA (2.96 FIP) and only 15 walks and 46 hits in 47+ IP, along with 42K. Yet another guy to add to the pitching depth chart.
Winston-Salem 4, Myrtle Beach 5
- G. rodriguez 2-4 HR(11), 3 RBI
- J. Sucre 2-3 2B, BB
- A. Milligan 1-4 2 RBI, K
Cole Rohrbough wasn't as bad in this game as he has been recently. It is interesting to note that he had a sub-3.00 ERA the first two months of the season. I really wonder if he might have something wrong with his arm. Also Gerry Rodriguez has quietly had one of the better seasons by our hitters this season.
Rome 1, Augusta 2
- L. Sumoza 1-4 K
- M. Kramer 1-3 HR(!), K
- D. Delgado 6IP 5H 2R 2BB 8K
Another (Di)masterful performance from Delgado. Unfortunately Eric Surkamp was even better allowing only 2 hits and striking out 12 while throwing a complete game. You have to tip your hat to that I guess. One thing to note about Dimaster is that his FIP is actually 3/4 of a run lower than his ERA, so he has pitched better than a cursory glance would suggest.
