Bruce Sutter was elected in his 13th year on the ballot today, receiving 76.9 percent of the votes. Needing 390 of the 520 votes cast for the minimum 75 percent to get elected, Sutter got 400 votes.
Sutter certainly paves the way now for other elite closers as he becomes the first pitcher who has never started a game to be elected to the Hall of Fame.
Braves fans remember Bruce Sutter for the last three years of his career. As a Brave, Bruce appeared in 112 games and collected 40 saves.
Once again, congrats to Bruce Sutter!
