Did anyone else notice...
that the Royals held the Tigers to three hits yesterday? The great thing about this.....our old friend Edgar Renteria had all 3 hits!!! I'm glad to see he is doing well so far because we all know that his first tour in the American League didn't go so well.

Braves claim Gotay off waivers
It looks like the Bravos have claimed Ruben Gotay off waivers from the Mets. If he does stay on our roster, I hope he works out better than the last Met that we aquired because I couldn't handle another black hole like Woodward was last year.

Aybar in Jail....Wren trade looks like a winner now
There was a lot of flack thrown at Frank Wren when he traded Chase Fontaine and Willy Aybar to the Rays for Jeff Ridgway, but today Wren appears to be a much smarter man than people have been giving him credit for.
Seems that Willy Aybar is a wife beater to go along with his drug problem, and has landed himself in jail. He is looking at three months in jail if convicted. This trade definitely appears to be in our favor now. I feel bad for the Rays because they just gave up some baggage in Elijah Dukes and find the very same baggage once again sitting on their doorstep.
Here is the link to the article on ESPN, http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3230697
Could Wren have Nostradamus like skills?

Offer to Mike Lowell?
I read on mlbtraderumors.com that we made an offer to Mike Lowell. Where do they think they are going to play him if we somehow do sign him? I know that Chipper is injury prone, but offering someone a 4 year, 10+ million dollar contract to be a back up seems kind of crazy unless you are the yankees. I know we aren't thinking of moving Chipper to the outfield cause his legs may explode if he goes back out there, so why would we do this? Thoughts?

Great Article by Jerry Crasnick
Jerry Crasnick talks about players in their 20's that resemble what Gwynn/Ripken stood for, and Francoeur is one of the players highlighted. I thought this was a great article.
Also, I had no idea that Francoeur stood up to AROD during the World Baseball Classic....I wish I could have seen that.

Tex's New Nickname
Tex is too boring of a nickname. What does everyone think his new Braves nickname should be?
I think we should call him "Choppin Charlie".
Choppin is obviously an ode to the Chop and since his name is Mark Charles Texiera I figured Charlie would do.
How do you like this name? Or do you have something Better?
