He was just released by the Ms. He'd be a nice RH power bat at the very least. And the Mets could probably use him.

2009-10 Braves
I'm optimistic.
We have a decent amount of money coming off the books. With shrewd dealing, FW should be able to add an under-the-radar vet and some near-mlb ready talent.
Next year's bullpen should include healthy Moylan, healthy Gonzalez, and healthy Soriano. The rest of the pen should fare better in a supporting role.
Schaefer and Morton should be in next year's picture. Rohrbaugh, Locke, Hansen shouldnt be far behind.
JJJ, Reyes, Morton, Huddy (maybe), Hammy (very maybe)... you could do worse.
Whatever, I'm just following Chipper at this point.

Nats release John Patterson
I'd really like to sign him. Not sure the nature of his injury, but he was a good pitcher when healthy. His lifetime stats aren't great, but the one year he was healthy (2005) he was 9-7, 3.13 ERA, 1.19 WHIP through almost 200 innings.
I'm amazed the Nats didn't just wait for him to rehab, it's not like they have a pitching surplus.

Bonds
Much as I dislike the guy, his presence in the Braves lineup would be formidable, maybe the best 1-2-3 punch in baseball. I would lock him up to a 1 year deal since we're going for broke in '08 anyway. Defense would suffer slightly and there would be the inevitable steroid distractions, but so what? The man and his OBP would add several much-needed victories to this team's record. And it would make Terence Moore happy.
