Chip Caray = Southern Celebrity?

What do American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle, four-time heavyweight champion boxer Evander Holyfield, NASCAR legend Bobby Allison, singer-songwriter Alice Peacock, and Atlanta Braves play-by-play announcer Chip Caray have in common? They are apparently all pimping for Zaxby's. While I was fast forwarding through the commercials of the Tivoed K-Ville last night (don't judge), I caught a glimpse of the young Caray in some sort of commercial. So I backed up and there he was, dipping chicken in sauce and describing just how he does it.

Now, I think Chip is a good guy, I've met him several times when I've been at the stadium and he's always been incredibly nice to me, but there's no real debate that he is pretty much one of the cheesiest and corniest announcers around, and these commercials certainly show that side of him to the world (or at least the south). I mean, "I go straight in like a torpedo bomber." That, by the way, is how he dips his chicken strips. I know, I know, waaaay too much information, and well, there really is nothing related to the Braves that I won't cover, and like it or not, the Caray's are a part of the Braves lore.

Anyway, if you would like to watch Chip or any of the other "southern celebrities," then go here to view their commercials. There are two of them for the Chip-ster, both equally engaging.

War metaphors
Never a good idea when we are:

A.  Embroiled in a War.
B.  Talking about chicken dipping sauces.
