Mets Blogosphere Reacts to Glavine's Return to Atlanta

Warning: Foul New York language below!

While most Braves fans are happy with Tom Glavine's return to Atlanta and the overall developments of the off-season, many Mets fans are a big perturbed. I took a look around the various Mets blogs to see how they felt; below is a sampling of their angst. We start with the title of Amazin' Avenue's blog entry about Glavine's return to Atlanta, which says it all:

Glavine, Braves, Unholy Reunion on the Cusp?

From The Eddie Kranepool Society we get an expletive riddled tirade about their departed southpaw:

If you're a Mets fan who feels bad that Glavine is gone or that he was in some way a "good Met", you're a fool. Glavine didn't give a shit about you, the organization or the City of New York. I don't want to sound bitter but good fucking riddance Titan Tom, I can't wait until we light your ass up in 2008.

Wow! This dude is really peeved. I can't wait until Tom Glavine throws the first no-hitter in the Mets new ballpark!

Matt Cerrone of the MetsBlog equates his past relationship problems with the Glavine situation:

...i once went out with a girl, who, after we broke up, went back to her ex-boyfriend, with whom she had dated for five years or so before i met her...while together, we had a fun, but awkward relationship, and it never really felt right...this triangle with the Mets, Braves and glavine feels like the same thing...i mean, i'm happy for glavine, as a person, but, now i can't help but feel like he never really wanted to be in new york...

Yeah I feel that same way, only on the other side of that triangle.

And finally, as I suspected (and feared) the Mets are all giddy about getting our draft pick - preferring it to Glavine, 88% to 12% at the time of this writing.

I'll have more fallout as it falls... out.

enjoy that draft pick player
in 2011, assuming it even results in a major leaguer.

hahaha... look at this
over at the Mets blog, they're ranking the top 50 Mets of all time. Guess who comes in at number 36 after spending 5 so-so years with them.

"good riddance! we don't want Glavine! .... but he's our 36th best player EVER"

I must come out of offseason hibernation to say:
I lol'd at "Foul New York language below!"

I'm sure Glavine is the only Met in the history of Mets who didn't give a shit about New York! The nerve!
