Braves Top 20-John Sickels

[editor's note, by gondeee] - I promoted this from the diary so it doesn't trump the trade news. Damn! There's a lot of news today.

John Sickels top-20 list is out.

I've never seen this many B's in one of his lists.  11!  Cody Johnson at 20?

Yeah...
I just saw this and, knowing nothing about the context, was impressed by the quantity of B's and the derth of A's.  I think he severely undervalues Cody Johnson, as well as somewhat underrating Medlen, Ortegano and Evarts.  All in all, a very encouraging list.
Come check out my blog 52 Card Pick-up and let me know what you think!

C+
He says he gives C+ ratings to guys who on the verge of solid players that need tougher competition or more playing time against said competition.  He also says its not a blanket statement though.

He must really like Brandon Hicks...I guess I'll finally give in and spend the money on his book.

The book....
... is well worth the money. It's great too when we acquire a new prospect, you can look 'em up.

I like...
....how hight he rates Jamie Richmond.  I liked Richmond a lot this year, and his showing in the World games (or whatever Canada competed in) was great.  I think his stock will rise quickly....

Thanks for posting.
Didn't know that site existed, gives me another thing to look at at work.

Enjoy the comments on Schafer.

John Sickels
He's great.  It's the first baseball site I check every day for probably the last three years.  He was on ESPN.com a long time ago "Down on the Farm"

Sickels
I've bought his book the last two years and I enjoy his comments and grades because he actually covers more prospects than BA does in their books and he tells things from a little more personal perspective. The site is fun because he allows the users to participate much in the same way we do here. I actually found talking chop through his site.
