Braves Offer Contract to Seanez

The Braves jumped into the mix with the Red Sox and Devil Rays as they made a contract offer to veteran reliever, Rudy Seanez. I like this move for Atlanta as long as Seanez comes cheap. They could use another veteran in the bullpen to help take some pressure off Chris Reitsma.

Seanez is 37 years-old who had arguably, his best season in 2005 going 7-1 with a 2.69 ERA for San Diego.

Bring back Rudy

I was hoping to Braves would go after Seanez.

Unfortunately, I read this evening that the Red Sox are closing in on a deal with him.

Yes, too bad...

Seanez would have been a nice addition to the club. But I guess Schuerholz wasn't willing to risk $2 million on a guy with a long history of injury problems.

Good news is there are still a good number of capable arms on the market.
