Noc-A-Homa-Win-A-Lotta Leaderboard

Explainer...

"Noc-A-Homa-Win-A-Lotta - what the hell is that," you say.

Well... luckily I'm here to answer your question.

Chief Noc-A-Homa was the non-politically correct Indian (or Native American, if I must) mascot of the Atlanta Braves from the 1950's to the mid-1980's, and Princess Win-A-Lotta was his equally non-politically correct "young woman companion" for several years. Together they resided in a tepee on top of the outfield bleachers at the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. Well... we're bringing it back baby! Oh yeah! Okay, really it's just a nickname I came up with for our new way to make predictions about upcoming games, getting everyone involved and having a grande olde time.

It's fun, it's free and everyone's invited! Here's how it will work.

For each game of the season we will have a NAHWAL fanshot that is posted in the morning by the NAHWAL Chief (bigjoe, very appropriate name, as it turns out), in this fanpost you will post your predictions about the game according to three questions. Then after the game, the NAHWAL Chief will give out points to those who made the best predictions - keeping a tally of points as the season goes on, awarding prizes every two weeks, and crowning a glorious winner at the end!

For each game you should make three predictions:

  1. Attendance. This is straightforward enough. One point awarded per night for the person who guesses the closest; three points if you guess it exactly right.
  2. Pick to Click. Basically, that's the player who you think will have the best game that day. And since this is a Braves site, we'll only be giving points for Atlanta players. Points will be awarded for a maximum of three players per night, and if one player has a ridiculously good game then he would be awarded all three points. No points are awarded in blowout losses, but let's hope it doesn't come to that.
  3. Wildcard Pick. This is where the NAHWAL Chief can throw out whatever question he wants about that day's game.

That's about it. Remember, this is for anyone and everyone, so don't be shy about playing, and feel free to be bold with your predictions. If you are a lurker who hasn't signed up for the site yet, then now's the time to get in on the action! Just remember to get your picks in before the game starts.

Did I mention we will have FABULOUS PRIZES for the winner??!?!?

Oh yeah. Fabulous prizes. Perhaps it will be a lifetime supply of the following (hells yeah!):

Or maybe just one can of it... but still, that would be pretty cool.

Noc-A-Homa-Win-A-Lotta. It's where it's at, baby.

This idea was, by the way, stolen rather directly from Fishstripes, who call it Ichthyomancy... don't ask.
