How does one determine potential?
I understand that some players have higher potential than others, but how does one determine how much potential a given player has? Like Edward Salcedo. I agree that he has a lot of potential, but, given the fact that he has struggled, how did we come to the conclusion of how much potential he has? Why do we feel that he could be better than say Pastornicky, when Pastornicky is producing better numbers at a higher level (albeit at an older age, but still)?
Any interest in Murphy?
What about Daniel Murphy? If Prado truly is moved for prospects, or a left field option Murphy is a multi position guy who has a cheap salary. Unfortunately he is another lefty but the Mets have stated they are listening to offers on him.
Can I insert a image or graph into a fanpost?
I'm trying to insert a image or graph onto a fanpost. Its a stats graph is there anyway I can do this?
SBNation and Chrome
I know myself and a couple of other users have had trouble commenting and logging in on Chrome for the last couple of days (I'm on FF right now). Wasn't sure where to ask about it so I thought a FanShot wouldn't hurt... any ideas?
Rules Question
Lets say Pitcher A has been struggling with his command for a few innings. He gets the count to 3-1 on a batter. The coach makes a change right then. Pitcher B comes in and throws a ball to walk the guy on the first pitch. Who is credited with the walk? I know it's not Braves related, but it happened in one of my games recently and I figured here would be the best place to find the answer.
Brandon Beachy's Decisions/Games Started
I was looking at some statistics to see if more innings pitched by a starting pitcher (min 20 starts) resulted in a higher percent of starts that resulted in a decision. The result was not a strong correlation, but was really stood out to me was Brandon Beachy. In only 37.5% of his starts, he got a win or a loss, by far the lowest in all of baseball. The second lowest in all of the MLB (min 20 starts) was Randy Wells with 54.5% and the average is about 73%.
My Question got answered on Fangraphs chat...
12:26 - Comment from Ace: Do you think the Braves' AAA rotation (Teheran, Minor, Delgado, Vizcaino, Redmond) is stronger than some MLB rotations?12:27 - Dan Szymborski: I think the Braves AAA rotation is evidence that the front office is taking some scouting-enhancement drugs and the team should be punished by having all those pitchers turned over to the Orioles immediately.
Going to the Giants vs Braves game on the 18th
If pitching rotations stay how they are now, it should shape up to be Lincecum vs Jurrjens, also Dan Uggla bobblehead day :P Important to me, I only get to go to one game a year bc I live in NC school/work etc
Braves @ Nationals meet up?
I'll be all three of these games 8/1, 8/2 and 8/3 in DC and would love to meet up with any TCers that may be around. I know we've got a fair number of DC area users and there are a couple people going but can't remember exactly who so let me know. And I guess we'll be in for a real treat with Bourn's Braves debut tomorrow! I plan on bringing an "I sign.
