Culberson, McCann Start for Braves, Prado in Lineup for Marlins

Perhaps the writing on the wall is finally coming into focus for Brian Snitker. With Dansby Swanson, Austin Riley, and Nick Markakis likely unavailable for an extended time frame and an inconsistent pitching staff, Snitker has to put a priority on offense production to make the Braves lineup as potent as possible. Thankfully, in terms of shortstop and catcher, Brian McCann and Charlie Culberson have made that decision pretty easy for the skipper.

McClutcherson has combined to produce a 117 wRC+ (McCann) and 132 wRC+ (Culberson) since the All-Star break. The lack of production from Johan Camargo (31 wRC+) and Tyler Flowers (27 wRC+) make the decision as to who should consistently start at each position even easier. Until Swanson returns, McClutherson should anchor the back half of the Braves order four to five times a week. (Yes, I know I am trying to speak McClutcherson into existence... and yes, I know I am failing miserably.)

It was expected that the Marlins would have one of the weaker lineups in baseball coming into this season. However, they have been dreadful since the All-Star Break. They are last in the majors in the second half in wRC+ and wOBA, and second to last in OPS. In terms of wRC+, the Marlins as a team (76 wRC+ in second half ) have basically produced as a lineup full of Ender Inciartes (75 wRC+ in 2019).

I know, I just got blocked... AGAIN.

Regardless, Dallas Keuchel should have a pretty easy night against this lineup. If Martin Prado wants to go ahead and get a couple of hits without runners on, that will be acceptable as well.
