Brian McCann gets the start behind the plate in Thursday’s series opener

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves will open a four-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight at Chase Field in Arizona. This will be the final stop for Atlanta on their current 10-game road trip. The Braves have lost three straight and have dipped below the .500 mark on the season with an 18-19 record. They will be hoping that Mike Soroka can play the role of stopper Thursday night and put an end to this skid.

In search of a win, Brian Snitker will roll with his regular starting lineup. Ronald Acuña Jr. moves back to left with Ender Inciarte slotted into center hitting eighth. Brian McCann gets the start behind the plate against right-hander Luke Weaver.

Ketel Marte is out of the Diamondbacks lineup for Thursday’s opener. Adam Jones is in right field and will bat clean up.

First pitch is scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on Fox Sports South.
