Touki Toussaint shines in Braves lopsided win over Mets
Sean Newcomb struggled but Touki Toussaint stepped in and held the Mets in check allowing just one unearned run over six innings while striking out seven. Josh Donaldson had to hits for the Braves including his first home run.
Braves option Wright, recall Toussaint
While Toussaint was impressive on Saturday night, his roster spot came at the expense of Kyle Wright who was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett earlier in the day. Wright turned in a solid performance this spring and injuries to Mike Foltynewicz and Kevin Gausman allowed him to open the season in the Braves’ rotation. With Foltynewicz nearing a return, Wright is headed back to Gwinnett where he will work on his fastball command in hopes of returning later this season.

Rangers Place Rougned Odor On 10-Day IL, Select Danny Santana
The Texas Rangers will be without second-baseman Rougned Odor for a while after he was placed on the injured list Sunday due to a sprained right knee. Former Brave Danny Santana was called up to take Odor’s spot on the active roster. Odor is expected to miss a minimum of two weeks with the injury.
Orioles’ Davis ends 0-for-54 streak, asks for ball
Chris Davis’ record hitless streak mercifully came to an end on Saturday as he snapped an 0-for-54 skid with a two-run single against the Red Sox. With the pressure off, Davis would finish the day with three hits including a pair of doubles.
