Teheran will join Greg Maddux and Rick Mahler as the only other pitchers in Braves history to make four consecutive opening day starts. Only two other National League pitchers have opening streaks longer or as long as Teheran. Clayton Kershaw has started six straight opening days for the Los Angeles Dodgers while Adam Wainwright has four straight starts for the Cardinals.
With Teheran pitching on Sunday, he will be in line to make two more spring starts before opening day. The Braves will open the season on April 3 in New York against the Mets.
