When the Hall of Fame Class of 2017 is announced at 6 PM Eastern tonight, a lot of lingering questions will be answered. Will newcomers like Pudge or Vlad Guerrero make the list? Will guys that came close like Trevor Hoffman and Jeff Bagwell get the nod? Will voters finally remember that Tim Raines was one of the best leadoff hitters we have seen and put him in on his final year on the ballot? Have attitudes towards those who have been suspected of PED use (or actually suspended for it in the case of Manny Ramirez) changed enough to make their candidacies more likely?
While no former Braves appear to have much of shot this year despite Fred McGriff having a stronger case than he is given credit for, the class will be an interesting case study going forward as what we can expect from future classes as well.
What do you think....do you think guys like Bonds and Clemens deserve to be inducted? Will Raines make it in finally? Who will be in the class of 2017? Discuss those things and more in the comments below as we count down until the announcement of the Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2017. Don’t forget to be nice to each other and let’s finally talk about some real baseball news.
