The Braves cannot seem to catch a break on the injury front. Just among members of the 40 man roster, the Braves currently have John Gant, Aaron Blair, Arodys Vizcaino, Shae Simmons, Casey Kelly, Julio Teheran, Mallex Smith, and Tyler Flowers all currently occupying the DL in some form or fashion.
That list does not include names like Williams Perez, Daniel Winkler, and Paco Rodriguez who are not currently on the 40 man roster after being placed on the 60-Day disabled list. Well, it looks like you can added one more name to the list.
RHP Chris Withrow placed on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation. RHP Chaz Roe will take his spot on the roster.

This is decidedly not great considering that Withrow was the recipient of Tommy John surgery on that same right elbow in 2014. So far, no word if there is concern that there is any more damage to the elbow other than inflammation (which is a fairly common occurrence amongst those who are recovering from TJS), but we will keep you posted.
Chaz Roe, just claimed off waivers from the Orioles, will take Withrow’s spot on the roster. The 6’5 righty appeared in 9 games for the Orioles and sported a 3.72 ERA, 5.72 FIP, and struck out 11 batters against 7 walks in 9.2 innings of work. Roe is the definition of a journeyman as the Braves will be his 4 organization in the past 4 years. However, he was the 32nd pick in the draft way back in 2005 by the Rockies, so hopefully this will be another savvy move by the Braves to pick up real talent on the cheap while bolstering their beleaguered ranks.
