Simmons missed all of last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2014 when he was 1-2 with a 2.91 ERA in 26 games out of the bullpen. Simmons has spent the majority of this season working his way back. He had his rehab cut short a couple of times due to shoulder soreness but appears to be ready to go. Simmons allowed seven hits and two runs over 12 appearances for Gwinnett this season.
Vizcaino was placed on the disabled list due to right shoulder inflammation. He struggled badly since returning from the disabled list. In four appearances, Vizcaino has allowed eight runs in just 2 2⁄3 innings.
