Julio Teheran looks to extend his scoreless inning streak Friday night when the Atlanta Braves continue their series against the Miami Marlins.
Teheran is riding a 23 inning scoreless streak and has allowed just six hits over his last two starts. His ERA is down to a season-best 2.43 and has allowed just three runs over his last 24 innings. He’s unfortunately has received very little run support from Atlanta’s offense. The Braves have scored two or fewer runs in 12 of Teheran’s 16 starts this season.
The Marlins will counter with lefty Justin Nicolino who is 2-4 with a 5.17 ERA in 10 starts this season. Nicolino comes into Friday’s game struggling having been hit hard in each of his last two starts. He has surrendered 22 hits and 10 earned runs over his last two starts.
