The Atlanta Braves are still searching for their first win of the season and will give the ball to Julio Teheran for Saturday night's game against the St Louis Cardinals.
The Braves saw an early 4-0 lead slip away in a 7-4 loss to the Cardinals on Friday. Atlanta put four on the board in the third before the Cardinals started to chip away. St. Louis recorded three pinch-hit home runs in the game including a game tying blast by Jeremy Hazelbaker in the seventh. Aledmys Diaz led off the eighth with another pinch-hit homer to put the Cardinals in front for good and they never looked back.
Teheran will be making his second start of the season after allowing two runs over six innings on opening day against the Washington Nationals. Teheran is 1-1 with a 1.89 ERA in three career starts against the Cardinals.
The Cardinals will counter with right-hander Carlos Matinez who will be making his season debut. Martinez went 14-7 last season with a 3.01 ERA. Martinez has yet to allow a run against the Braves in five career appearances including eight shutout innings in a start last July.
