UPDATE: Unfortunately, the fears of the masses came to pass, as the team announced that Winkler has a fractured right elbow. No firm timetable exists for recovery at this point, but this is a long-term injury to be sure. Stay tuned.

The hits keep coming for the Atlanta Braves. Daniel Winkler left Sunday's game with the Cardinals after suffering an apparent elbow injury. Winkler threw a pitch behind Randal Grichuk and immediately went to the ground in pain while clutching his elbow.
Oh man, Dan Winkler just threw a pitch behind Grichuk....he's in a lot of pain and down in foul territory holding his elbow.

Scary scene as Daniel Winkler grabbed his elbow and fell to the ground after throwing a pitch. He had Tommy John in 2014.

Winkler had an exceptional spring with the Braves and had been one of the team's most effective options out of the bullpen. He threw a scoreless inning in Sunday's game and has allowed no hits in three appearances so far this season.
