There wasn't much going for the Gwinnett Braves in this one. They trailed from the 1st inning on, and a potential comeback was spoiled when Peter Moylan had a rough inning in the 7th. Joey Terdoslavich and Eric Young Jr. made their first appearances for Gwinnett and were both reached base once. Young stole a base and scored after walking, and Terdoslavich doubled for his only hit in 4 tries. Manny Banuelos received his first loss of the year despite a fairly good outing. Jose Peraza didn't play in the game.

After falling behind 1-0 in the 1st inning, the Mississippi Braves scored 5 unanswered runs - 1 in the 2nd and 4 in the 4th - to defeat the Shuckers 5-1. Jake Brigham pitched another gem after nearly throwing a perfect game his last time out. The red-hot pitcher allowed just 2 hits and 1 run over eight innings of work to improve to 6-2 on the season. Mallex Smith continue his fantastic work from the leadoff spot with 2 hits - including a triple - and 2 RBI's. Rio Ruiz reached base 3 more times as his average continues to climb towards a more respectable number.

The Carolina Mudcats had plenty of opportunities on Thursday night but never capitalized to overcome a rough 6th inning by starter Seth Webster. Webster gave up 4 of his 5 earned runs in the 6th. Carlos Franco had a triple and an RBI double in the game. Connor Lien and Keith Curcio combined for 5 walks at the plate.

The Rome Braves struck 1st in this one with a Jordan Eagerton single bringing home Ozhaino Albies, but they failed to score another run until the 8th inning and fell 4-2 to the Tourists. Albies extended his hitting streak to 16 games. Braxton Davidson also extended his hitting streak with a single to get it to 7 games. Max Povse had an interesting and ugly line in just 3.2 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks, but only 1 run was earned due to an error by Tanner Krietemeier in the 3rd inning.
