Matt Wisler headed in the right direction on Tuesday as he got through 5.1 innings, allowing only one run while striking out seven batters. Ian Thomas relieved Wisler and pitched 2.1 hitless innings to set up John Cornely for his first save. Jose Peraza had three hits to raise his average to .320 on the season. He stole second after singles in the first and third inning and then tripled in the fifth inning to cap off a nice night. Todd Cunningham was on base three times and scored twice, while Joe Benson drove in two runs with his second and seventh inning singles.

The Mississippi Braves had the day off as they traveled to Biloxi for a 5-game series through next Monday.

Andrew Thurman continued his good work this season with five shutout innings to improve to 3-2. Mauricio Cabrera relieved him with two more scoreless innings that brought his ERA down to nearly 2.00 on the season. The eight and nine hitters did the damage in the Mudcats lineup. Connor Lien and Johan Camargo hit back-to-back doubles in the fifth inning to bring the first three runs across the plate. Lien added another RBI double in the sixth to finish up the offense for the night. He has six doubles on the year.
