BRAVES NEWS

A Gattis Powered Win

Evan Gattis is a home run hitting machine and last night he hit the "Fishstravaganza" in the 4-2 victory over the Marlins. The two-run shot in the ninth inning was his 11th of the season and makes for countless numbers of times he has had a clutch hit in his Braves career. El Oso, El Oso, El Oso Blanco (music plays).

Kimbrel One Away From All-Time Saves Record

For those who only watch the box scores occasionally don't be scared to see Shae Simmons name marked down as notching the save last night our sensational closer is still doing fine. Craig Kimbrel is no doubt going to be an All Star this season with 15 saves already and a crazy high strikeout rating per nine innings. He is tied with John Smoltz for the franchises all-time record at 154 and has the chance to break it at home with a two-game series starting up this week with the Seattle Mariners. We are witnessing greatness and no I'm not talking about Lebron James.

J-Up Receives Day Of Rest

The Braves swept the Marlins on the road without Justin Upton being in the lineup yesterday. The star right fielder has had a rough season away from Turner Field, as he is just a mere 18-for-93 (.194) from the plate on the road. At the Ted he is hitting .400 with 10 home runs and 26 RBIs in just 100 at-bats. There's just some things that are hard to explain in sports and this is one of those.

Braves Players Signing Snapchat Pictures

The new trend has arrived for obtaining baseball players autographs. Julio Teheran and Anthony Varvaro yesterday signed a fans picture of themselves on the phone application called snapchat with their fingers. Also check out the picture and see how little S. Simmons looks compared to Gattis when shaking hands after the team win.

Carpenter Considers Recent Stretch Bad Luck

David Carpenter has not exactly been lights out by any means out of the bullpen lately, but he believes he can turn it around quickly and is not worried.

La Stella Magic

Before games TLS probably listens to "The Man". The way he has been playing would reflect so, as he is 6-for-15 to start his big league career and has the second base job all but won over. In his past two games he is 4-for-6 with a stolen base and looks very comfortable at the plate. Of course he has yet to strikeout also.

LEAGUE NEWS

WAR Standings

The young guns Troy Tulowitzki and Mike Trout lead the NL and AL respectively for most wins above replacement level at 3.9 and 3.5. Check out to see who else cracks the Top 10.

Shutout Sunday

There were six MLB teams to throw shutouts yesterday. Mark Buehrle and the Blue Jays were one of them as he went eight splendid innings and is now 10-1 on the season and the first pitcher in the league to double digit wins. The lefty is one of the most craftiest pitchers around in the game.

Bourn's Walk Off

Surprisingly enough he did hit a walk off two-run homer to beat the Rockies last night. The former Braves leadoff man is having a good season at the dish for the Indians so far.
