Alex Wood made his second rehab start with Gwinnett Wednesday night.

Alex Wood made his second "extended" start, throwing five innings surrendering one run. Wood stretched out his arm to 73 pitches, throwing 48 (66%) for strikes. The lefty will make one more start before a hopeful entry into the major league rotation. Jorge Reyes and Kameron Loe finished the final frames, throwing three hitless innings. The offense couldn't overcome the two run deficit, only reaching base six times on the day. Steven Lerud got the start behind the plate and collected one of two extra-base hits. Shortstop Ozzie Martinez legged out a triple, his second of the season with Gwinnett. The 26-year-old is on fire over his past 10 games, slashing .394/.474/.515.
The M-Braves will return to action today as they take on the Jackson Generals.
Lynchburg will also kick off the second half of their season today, taking on the Potomac Nationals.
Rome (and $1 drink night) returns to State Mutual Stadium Thursday to take on Hickory Crawdads.
Danville will kick its season off later tonight against the Kingsport Mets.
