Game Thread 6/1: Braves at Marlins

Saying that this Braves-Marlins series in Miami has been a complete polar opposite of Atlanta's last trip down there would be an understatement; As bad as the Braves were in Miami in April, that's how good they've been in May and now June. Instead of being the ones looking at being swept, now Atlanta is the team looking to put the brooms to someone.

Today's starter is Aaron Harang, who is currently leading all of baseball in FIP with a mark of 2.21. Seriously, this is actually happening. There's no point in trying to understand it. At this point, we may as well just sit back and enjoy the ride for however long it lasts.

Hopefully, there's still a bit more gas left in the ride, because he'll probably need it considering who the Marlins have pitching. Nathan Eovaldi should be the toughest challenge for the Braves offense this weekend. He's already faced the Braves twice this season, and both times the Braves had a complete devil of a time trying to score on him.

Lineup-wise, the Braves have one big change: Justin Upton will be on the bench for a scheduled day of rest, and Ryan Doumit will be playing in left today. Meanwhile, Evan Gattis is back in the lineup and he'll be hitting cleanup. Meanwhile for Miami, Jarrod Saltalamacchia has been put on the 7-day Concussion DL, which means that Jacob Realmuto has been called up by the Marlins. He'll be the backup catcher while Jeff Mathis toils as backstop today.

Here's the lineups:
