W/L records don't matter. ERA doesn't matter. What matters is what you can control, namely strikeouts, walks and homeruns! With a man on first base, I say pitch from the windup. It would lead to a stolen base, perhaps a run scored, and perhaps even a loss of the game. But rest assured that we do not evaluate pitchers by their W/L record. Look at Jeff Samardzija! Look at Cliff Lee (143-90 lifetime record aside!)!
