Interesting retrospective on John Rocker

I'm not sure if you guys have had a chance to read this yet, but this is a great article giving a first-hand perspective on the curious case of John Rocker. I recommend giving it a read if you haven't already.

Retrospective on the 15 yr old SI story about Rocker

Any thoughts/opinions? While I have resented John Rocker for quite some time for the negative publicity he brought to the Atlanta franchise, and this article doesn't really change that, I can say that it's easy to forget that these athletes are people, too. It's obvious that Rocker was self-centered, brazen, and offensive, but it's crazy how one afternoon really shaped the rest of his career. He was young and showing off, and he didn't really consider how his actions would be perceived. He was always a loud mouth and said whatever he felt like, but it's crazy how one article really propelled him to be one of the most hated players in Braves and MLB history.
