This is my first post, so it will probably be short and to the point. The extension of Andrelton Simmons is in line with how the Braves seem to be developing their pitching staff. With power pitchers being the guys that usually get the big money, how much money can Simmons save the Braves on their pitchers? Instead of needing the prototypical ace, Medlen and Minor are able to trust their defenses and consistently put up numbers that surprise the rest of the league. Our defense seems to be able to consistently aide our pitching staff and Simmons is the number 1 guy. An extension of Heyward, if he ever puts it together for a full season, could be that much more beneficial to the development of our pitching staff. We don't need Price, Verlander, or Kershaw. I trust that this year Minor, Medlen, and Teheran are going to do something special with the help of a little bit of Freddie, a tad of Heyward, and a whole lot of Simba.
